I Have Received a Letter from the GMC
Received a GMC Letter? Don’t Panic, But Act!
If you have received a letter from the General Medical Council (GMC), it is important to read it carefully, as some GMC letters require a doctor to take action within a specified time frame.
The GMC has many departments, including registration, fitness to practise, and education. The GMC acts in the public interest and is a creature of UK statute law. It operates under the Act of Parliament called the Medical Act 1983 (as amended). This legislation enables the GMC to exist and function. There are also statutory instruments, which are subordinate legislation, that the GMC is required to follow.
We can advise doctors, physician associates (PAs), and anaesthesia associates (AAs) on ‘all things GMC‘.
If you have received a letter from the GMC and you are looking for legal advice or policy interpretation, our specialist advisors are here to advise you.
