The GMC permits those who take Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) exams 1 and 2 to appeal in certain instances.

The GMC asks that appeals are filed prior to results being made known. The GMC has set out its guidance notes on bring appeals, here:

The PLAB exams are gradually being moved to the MLA process. For more information, see the: MLA content map. This will incorporate the Applied Knowledge Test (AKT), replacing PLAB1, and the Clinical and Professional Skills Assessment (CPSA), replacing PLAB2.
