MPTS Takes Over GMC Adjudication Role June 2012

MPTS Adjudications to Replace GMC AdjudicationsThe Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) took over the role of adjudicating on doctors cases from 11 June 2012. It took over the role from the General Medical Council (GMC).

Doctors Defence Service has already started to represent doctors before the new tribunal. Most of the changes that have been made are window dressing, with the GMC policy documents becoming re-branded as MPTS policy documents. However, new regulations and policies are set to come into force later in 2012, and early in 2013.

See our new digests of the new MPTS regulations and new MPTS policy to gain a greater understanding of the new regime.
