Can a doctor practise while on the Sex Offenders Register?

A number of doctors each year are convicted of a sexually related offence. As part of their sentence they will be ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register. The years it will be extant will be set by the sentencing judge in the criminal court, and usually five or ten years, if not life, depending on the facts underlying the offence. The legislation enabling the register is the Sexual Offences Act.
